Ken spent every Sunday in March going to different churches promoting the Conference Centre. It was something that Guelph hadn't done before, so Ken had to hustle and put together a booth. The first week he just had my blue table cloth and some brochures. Each week he was able to get the table looking a little better. Katie worked on putting together a slide show and Ken had the banner made. By the time Mission Fest came a long last weekend, his booth looked pretty good.

Waffles Anyone?
Canadians know when spring has arrived because of the Maple Tree. Warm days and cold nights cause the sap to start running. We had the chance to go visit a Sugar Bush on Saturday. Although it was the tail end of the season, it was very interesting. We have had very warm weather this past week with warm nights as well, so the season was short this year.
We saw how the hole is drilled and the spile inserted. The bucket is hooked on and nature takes its course. It takes about 40 gallons of sap to make 1 gallon of syrup. A commercial Bush will use tubing instead of buckets, going from tree to tree ending up in the sugar shack where they boil the sap at real high temperatures. The longer they cook it, the darker the syrup.
Of Course we had waffles for Breakfast on Easter Morning!
It was a beautiful week end and we had a very special Day Celebrating our Lord's Resurrection. A wonderful Worship Service, delicious dinner and a long walk along the river.
