A Beautiful Day

Today I am looking out to a very lovely day here in our part of the world. I have heard from many of you that the storms are raging. Even Mom in Palm Springs has been limited to her activities because of the rain and clouds. Although it is cold, about 30, and there is snow on the ground, the sky is blue and the sun is shining. Next week our situations may be reversed but I am thankful for today.

Happy Birthday Lisa

Guess Who?
Lisa 1 Month old

Last Sunday Lisa had her 21st birthday. Hard to believe!
It was so fun to be with her this year. The last 2 years
she was already back at school by January 10th.
We went out to dinner and then back home
for cake and gifts

It appears like someone is going to be doing some traveling!!!

Saying good bye at the airport. Lisa is on her way to Germany.

Christmas Eve

I know, I am going backwards. I just hadn't put these Christmas Eve Pictures up yet. We had such a nice day and evening. I had gotten this fondue set several years ago for Christmas and never really used it. Since it was just the four of us and we had lots of time, I thought it would be a great opportunity to get it out. I searched cooks.com and found the perfect cheese fondue recipe. We enjoyed the french bread with the cheese and a yummy cranberry and walnut salad. Then came the steak and shrimp fondue with a simple fettuccine.

We got ready and went down the street to the Guelph Bible Chapel to the Christmas Eve service. It was wonderful. One Christmas Carol after another, special music and a lovely array of Christmas goodies afterwards, which we passed on and only had hot cider, because chocolate fondue awaited us at home. We enjoyed dipping angel food cake and fresh fruit in the creamy chocolate (also found on cooks.com).
A wonderful evening! For our Christmas day picture,
you will need to go to the Cowgirl's blog.

I have a hard time saying good bye to Christmas.
I always stay up after everyone else has gone to bed,
enjoying the lights and listening
to Christmas music. Not wanting the day to end.

It was the same this year. My thoughts went back to last
Christmas at the coast with the Ewerts. So many wonderful
memories and good times. I missed being with the large extended
family, but this year was so precious. It was quiet and slow paced, and
Ken and I marveled at the many Blessings that the Lord
has brought our way this year.
As I packed up Christmas last year, I remember thinking
"I wonder where we will be next Christmas",
feeling that the Lord was going to move us, just not knowing when and where.
I love how God does that!
Who would have ever thought Guelph, Ontario Canada?

It is January 3rd and everyone is moving on to the New Year. I am happy to
say that I too am moving on and, in fact, have Christmas put away and the
house clean and ready to go back to work, but it was a wonderful Christmas and
I cherish the memories. I also look forward to what 2010 has in store.
I'll keep you "posted".

Spending Time Together

This is one of my all time favorites! I have different variations of
this photo through the years. Even before Katie could read,
she would be right there doing what her sister was doing...lost in a book.

Niagara Falls is only a little over an hour away from where we live.
We took a trip over there on Wednesday. It was a beautiful day, but very cold.
