California

Katie and I just got back from our trip to Sunny California.
We enjoyed our VW Bug and put a lot of miles on it as we saw wonderful friends and Family.

The "Katie's"
We met Marlene and Katie in Palm Springs for Lunch.
Katie spent most of her time with the Groman's
Audrey, Katie and Alexa

Monday was my "Holly Day".
We ended up in Oceanside where the weather was PERFECT!
I will always love the sights, smells and sounds of the beach.

I enjoyed spending time with my Mom
at her little place at Sky Valley, near Palm Springs.

We don't have In-N-Out burger in Canada!
Oh, the things that you miss!
Good Friends!

Katie also had a chance to see Brianna,
a special friend from Julian Charter School.
We ended up at the beach again!
Everyone we meet here in Canada asks the same question, "Why did you move here from California?" Some understand the concept of God's calling, some do not, but as much as we love California and the special people we left there, Guelph is now home and it was good to get back.
The worst part of a trip like this is having to say good bye again!

A Quick Update

I know it has been three week. I have had a bit of a writers block. I have actually had a few posts started, just couldn't get with it enough to get them finished. Plus the fact that "life in Canada" has been crazy busy. Our small staff has gotten even smaller in the last 2 weeks. With one couple leaving, it cut our staff almost in half. Registrations are coming in and we are getting busier with guest groups, but all in all we are doing real well. We are excited to see how God is going to meet our staffing needs this spring.

We got a lot of snow a week ago, but it has been sunny and beautiful this week, and now we are starting to see patches of grass. Everyone is starting to talk about spring, but I am okay with a little more winter. I have heard that winter will be back in April. We will see.

Katie has been getting quite a bit of "driving" in and doing real well. We are looking forward to our trip to California over Spring Break. Ken will hold the fort down here, but we don't have any groups coming in during that time, so it should be quiet for him.

It is hard to believe that Lisa will be back in a month. We talk to her often, (when she is not touring), but anxious to see her in person. She has also been doing a wonderful job at keeping us all posted on her "Comings and Goings" abroad. cowgirlstypewriter.blogspot.com

I like to add pictures to my posts. This random picture of Ribbon is mostly for Lisa's sake. I was able to visit Ribbon a couple of weeks ago. It was a beautiful day and she was outside enjoying the sunshine. I think that Oregon suits her!
